This involves one sister selling her half interest in three tracts of land to the other sister.
David Crum, Jr. of West Hanover died January 23, 1907 and left two tracts of land to his widow, Sarah, and two daughters: Mary married William A. Lingle (of Lower Paxton Twp) and Catherine married Samuel S. Potteiger (of West Hanover Twp). The widow Sarah Crum died September 29, 1907. The husband of Mary, William A. Lingle, died January 19, 1907. For about $3,400 Mary sold Catherine her half of the two tracts they inherited plus her half of another tract owned by the two sisters.
Tract # 1 located principally in Lower Paxton Twp, referencing: Martin Goss land; Sarah Buck land; John Crum land; David Stuckey land; Samuel Palmer land; Beaver Creek; and C. Reist land. The same tract that Peter and his wife Susannah Hoerner and John S. and his wife, Ann Lucy Walter on April 1, 1879 sold to David Crum. Book R Volume 5, page 22.
Tract # 2 located in West Hanover Twp, referencing: Catherine Glassbrenner land and Benjamin Lingle (deceased) land. The same tract that Catherine Strock, the widow of Jacob Strock (which involved a widow’s dower to be paid annually) sold to David Crum on September 6, 18?7. Book I Volume 6 page 206.
Tract # 3 located in West Hanover Twp near the intersection of Jonestown Road and Wolf’s Lane, referencing the David Crum (deceased) land. The same tract that Levi G. and Eliza A. Landis on March 30, 1907 sold to Mary E. Lingle and Catherine E. Potteiger. Book Y Volume 12 page 469. 

Book R Volume 5 page 22 (Tract # 1 of the major portion of the Potteiger land) Peter and his wife Susannah Hoerner (of South Hanover Twp) and John S. and his wife Anna Lucy Walter (of Lower Paxton Twp) sold to David Crum, Jr. (of Lower Paxton Twp) ninety-nine acres in Lower Paxton Twp for $5,000 in April 1, 1879 referencing: Martin Goss land; Jacob Shearer land; Sarah Buck land; Jno Crum land; David Stuckey land; Samuel Palmer land; stone fence; Beaver Creek; mill dam; and C. Reist’s heirs land. Same tract that Peter and his wife Susannah Hoerner sold a half interest to John S. Walter on March 18, 1870. Book I Volume 4 page 628. Larger portion is the same tract William Cowden, Mary Cowden, and Sarah Cowden on April 1, 1856 sold to Jonas F. Rudy. Book C Volume 3 page 426. Smaller portion is the same tract Samuel Palmer and his wife sold to Jonas F. Rudy in May 1868; then on March 24, 1879 Jonas F. Rudy and his wife sold it to Peter Hoerner. Book D Volume 4 page 625.

Book I Volume 4 page 628 Peter and his wife Susannah Hoerner of Lower Paxton Twp sold to John S. Walter of South Hanover Twp on March 18, 1870 for $5,000 a half interest in buildings and a 107 acre tract of land located principally in Lower Paxton Twp, referencing: Martin Goss land; Henry Albright land; stone fence by John Albright land; David Stuckey land; Samuel Palmer land; Christian Reist land; creek; and stone fence by Martin Goss land. (On February 5, 1875, the deed was corrected to show 100 acres) This is the same tract William Cowden, Mary Cowden, and Sarah Cowden sold to Jonas F. Rudy on April 1, 1856. Book C Volume 3 page 426. Also included are smaller tracts sold to Jonas F. Rudy by Samuel and Susannah Palmer on May 1, 1868.

Book D Volume 4 page 625 Jonas F. and Sarah Rudy of Susquehanna Twp on April 1, 1868 sold to Peter Hoerner of Lower Paxton Twp for $10,000 buildings and a 107 acre tract of land located principally in Lower Paxton Twp, referencing: Martin Goss land; Henry Albright land; bank of a small run; John Albright land; David Stuckey land; Samuel Palmer land; middle of Beaver Creek; Benjamin Lingel land; and Christian Reist land. This is same tract that William K. Cowden, Sarah E. Cowden, and Mary E. Cowden sold to Jonas F. Rudy on April 1, 1856 Book C Volume 3 page 426. Also includes two small tracts sold to Jonas F. Rudy by Samuel and Susannah Palmer on May 1868.

Book C Volume 3 page 428 William K. Cowden, Sarah E. Cowden, and Mary E. Cowden sold to Jonas F. Rudy on April 1, 1856 for $3,525 a Fulling Mill, a Plantation, and 119 acres in Lower Paxton Twp and West Hanover Twp, referencing: West side of Beaver Creek; C. Reist land; Daniel Palmer land; William Calhoun land; Henry Albright land; a stone fence, and G. Runyard land. Also included in the sale was a smaller piece of land referencing: East side of Beaver Creek and William Fisher land. The smaller piece was the same tract that Mathew B. Cowden on November 2, 1854 sold to William K. Cowden, Sarah E. Cowden, and Mary E. Cowden.

Book C Volume 3 page 426 (Larger portion of Tract # 1 of the major portion of the Potteiger land) Mathew B. Cowden of Lower Paxton Twp sold Fulling Mill and tract of land located in Lower Paxton Twp and West Hanover Twp to William K. Cowden, Sarah E. Cowden, and Mary E. Cowden (tenants in common; all from Lower Paxton Twp) on November 2, 1854 for $3,925 referencing: West side of Beaver Creek; C. Reist land; Daniel Palmer land; William Calhoun land; Henry Albright land; G. Runyard land. This is the same tract Thomas and Mary Bell on May 4, 1813 sold to Mathew B. Cowden. Book S Volume 1 page 440. Also include in the sale was another piece of land referencing: East side of Beaver Creek and William Fisher land. This is the same tract of land Rudolph Baer sold to Mathew B. Cowden on June 15, 1822.

Book S Volume 1 page 440. Thomas and Mary Bell (of Lower Paxton Twp) sold to Mathew B. Cowden (of lower Paxton Twp) on May 4, 1813 for $4,980 a plantation and a tract of land situated in Lower Paxton and West Hanover Twps referencing: West side of Beaver Creek; Jacob Backenstore (?) land; Thomas Bell land; William Calhoun’s land; D. Palmer land; Thomas Palmer land; John Glassbrenner land; and East side of Beaver Creek. This tract is part of a larger tract containing 138 acres that was granted to Thomas Bell on March 31, 1813 and is in Patent Book H Volume 8 page 729. A small part of the tract was granted to Thomas Bell on June 14, 1798 and is in Patent Book P Volume 34 page 121.
