James Holman (Holdman, Holeman)
Born: about 1814 in Madison County, Kentucky
Died: about 1886 in Crab Orchard, Lincoln County, Kentucky

James Holman (Holdman, Holeman) was born about 1814 in Madison County, Kentucky. He lived in the area of Brodhead (Stigall's Stand) and Crab Orchard, Kentucky, which are on the border of three Kentucky counties: Lincoln, Garrard, and Rockcastle.

The results of the DNA tests show that the descendant of James Holeman, b. 1814 in Madison Co., Kentucky is:

"very tightly related" to the descendant of the Daniel Holman who was born about 1787 in North Carolina, had children in Tennessee, and homesteaded in Douglas, Missouri;

"very tightly related" to the descendant of the Kenneth Holeman who died in 1871 in Upperfreehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey who is thought to be a descendant of Robert Holeman, died 1709 in New Jersey;

"related" to a descendant of the Elias Holeman (1759-1827, Burlington County, New Jersey); and

"related" to the descendants of the Thomas Holeman who moved from Virginia to North Carolina in 1752.

DNA Facts and Assumptions

The DNA test results show that a great grandfather of Kenneth Holman, died 1871 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, is 97.28% likely to be the common ancestor of the three "very tightly related" Holemans.

The mutation at DYS 449 probably occurred first with the Robert Holman (c1712-1790) who married Margaret Jemson. He would be the common ancestor of the three "very tightly related" Holeman men. His direct male descendants should have the mutation.

Millstone Township is a township in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Millstone was formed as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 28, 1844, from portions of Freehold Township and Upper Freehold Township, as well as part of Monroe Township in Middlesex County. (The portions taken from Monroe Township were relinquished in 1845. On May 29, 1937, portions of the township were taken to form the borough of Jersey Homesteads.)
